Featuring: The Nut Haul off NutGalley!

Apparently NetGalley has a great sense of humor, sprucing up their site for April Fools. So cute and fitting in my case for sure lol. I wanted to take the time to give a shoutout to NetGalley and say I appreciate them, as well as showoff a couple of ARC’s I’ll be reading this month that I requested and received! You know how it is, your searching through the recently added list and you see one of your most favorite authors. I fangirled out the day I saw one of Jude Deveraux’s books on there.. unfortunately for me that request was denied quick, fast, and in a hurry. Sooo after I picked up the pieces of my broken heart, I’ve learned not to get my hopes up too far just in case. This last request binge I went on though was super fruitful! So lets see what I got in my Nut Case for the month of April!

The Evil Queen by Gena Showalter

You see this beauty! Love freaking Gena Showalter! Lords of the Underworld is one of my most favorite series! I can’t wait to start this!

Releases: June 25, 2019

Goodreads Blurb:

Welcome to the Forest of Good and Evil. A dream come true, and a living nightmare.

Evil isn’t born, it’s made. One thought and action at a time. Take a good look at what you’ve made.

Far, far away, in the realm of Enchantia, creatures of legend still exist, magic is the norm and fairy tales are real. Except, fairy tales aren’t based on myths and legends of the past—they are prophecies of the future.

Raised in the mortal realm, Everly Morrow has no idea she’s a real life fairy tale princess—until she manifests an ability to commune with mirrors.

Look. See… What will one peek hurt?

Soon, a horrifying truth is revealed. She is fated to be Snow White’s greatest enemy, the Evil Queen.

With powers beyond her imagination or control—and determined to change Fate itself—Everly returns to the land of her birth. There, she meets Roth Charmaine, the supposed Prince Charming. Their attraction is undeniable, but their relationship is doomed.

As bits and pieces of the prophecy unfold, Everly faces one betrayal after another, and giving in to her dark side proves more tempting every day. Can she resist, or will she become the queen—and villain—she was born to be?

Finale by Stephanie Garber

So excited to see what twists and turns are left in this last Caraval Novel!

Releases: May 7, 2019

Goodreads Blurb:

Welcome, welcome to Finale, the third and final book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Caraval series!

Welcome, welcome to Caraval…all games must come to an end.

It’s been two months since the last Caraval concluded, two months since the Fates have been freed from an enchanted deck of cards, two months since Tella has seen Legend, and two months since Legend claimed the empire’s throne as his own. Now, Legend is preparing for his official coronation and Tella is determined to stop it. She believes her own mother, who still remains in an enchanted sleep, is the rightful heir to the throne.

Meanwhile, Scarlett has started a game of her own. She’s challenged Julian and her former fiancé, Count Nicolas d’Arcy, to a competition where the winner will receive her hand in marriage. Finaly, Scarlett feels as if she is in complete control over her life and future. She is unaware that her mother’s past has put her in the greatest danger of all.

Caraval is over, but perhaps the greatest game of all has begun―with lives, empires, and hearts all at stake. There are no spectators this time: only those who will win…and those who will lose everything. . . (less)

Shadow Frost by Coco Ma

Such a beautiful cover. Definately hoping to get to this one this month. It won’t count for bonus in our April Challenge but I’m not sure if I can keep my hands off it for long lol.

Release: October 1, 2019

Goodreads Blurb:

IN THE KINGDOM OF AXARIA, a darkness rises.

Some call it a monster, laying waste to the villagers and their homes.
Some say it is an invulnerable demon summoned from the deepest abysses of the Immortal Realm.
Many soldiers from the royal guard are sent out to hunt it down.

Not one has ever returned.

When Asterin Faelenhart, Princess of Axaria and heir to the throne, discovers that she may hold the key to defeating the mysterious demon terrorizing her kingdom, she vows not to rest until the beast is slain. With the help of her friends and the powers she wields—though has yet to fully understand—Asterin sets out to complete a single task. The task that countless, trained soldiers have failed.

To kill it.

But as they hunt for the demon, they unearth a plot to assassinate the Princess herself instead. Asterin and her friends begin to wonder how much of their lives have been lies, especially when they realize that the center of the web of deceit might very well be themselves. With no one else to turn to, they are forced to decide just how much they are willing to sacrifice to protect the only world they have ever known.

That is… if the demon doesn’t get to them first.

Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen

Its not very often that the first sentence in a blurb describes everything good in my life.. but here it is! Evidently this beautiful cover is hiding all the goods, like pirate treasure just waiting ever so patiently for me to come find it!

Release: May 7, 2019

Goodreads Blurb:

High seas adventure, blackmail, and meddling gods meet in Dark Shores, a thrilling first novel in a fast-paced new YA fantasy series by USA Today bestselling author Danielle L. Jensen.

In a world divided by meddlesome gods and treacherous oceans, only the Maarin possess the knowledge to cross the Endless Seas. But they have one mandate: East must never meet West.

A PIRATE WITH A WILL OF IRON

Teriana is the second mate of the Quincense and heir to the Maarin Triumvirate. Her people are born of the seas and the keepers of its secrets, but when her closest friend is forced into an unwanted betrothal, Teriana breaks her people’s mandate so her friend might escape—a choice with devastating consequences.

A SOLDIER WITH A SECRET

Marcus is the commander of the Thirty-Seventh, the notorious legion that has led the Celendor Empire to conquer the entire East. The legion is his family, but even they don’t know the truth he’s been hiding since childhood. It’s a secret he’ll do anything to protect, no matter how much it costs him – and the world.

A DANGEROUS QUEST

When an Empire senator discovers the existence of the Dark Shores, he captures Teriana’s crew and threatens to reveal Marcus’s secret unless they sail in pursuit of conquest, forcing the two into an unlikely—and unwilling—alliance. They unite for the sake of their families, but both must decide how far they are willing to go, and how much they are willing to sacrifice.

So there are just some of the wonderful times I have planned for the month ahead! Thanks so much NetGalley for lookin out! Deuces!

    1. I know it seems everything I’ve been approved for lately has a publication for later in the year, and of course most want you to wait to publish closer to their release date. I can’t stand seeing books go 3 months plus on my shelves in NetGalley though. My anxiety spikes lol. I’ll have to just turn in my feedback early and wait to review it publicly or else it will drive me mad lol!
